Artist Bio

 

Li Zhihan is a Chinese vocalist specializing in classical bel canto repertoire, with over five years of formal vocal training and performance experience. Her artistic approach centers on allowing music to flow naturally, conveying emotional depth and narrative with authenticity and sensitivity. She is particularly interested in how vocal color and phrasing shape character and deepen audience engagement.

 

She studied at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA), Singapore, where she received comprehensive professional training and graduated with a Diploma in Music Performance, achieving an A grade in her major. Within this multicultural environment, she broadened her artistic perspective while refining her technical foundation and stylistic understanding.

 

Zhihan has participated in masterclasses with distinguished artists including Teng Xiangting and Nancy Yuen, Head of Vocal Studies at the Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts. These experiences have strengthened her interpretative insight and contributed to the development of her artistic voice.

 

Beyond solo performance, she has also worked as a stage manager in opera productions, gaining a deeper understanding of ensemble collaboration and stagecraft. This experience has enhanced her awareness of dramatic structure, adaptability, and overall performance presence.

 

In addition to performing, Zhihan is actively engaged in music education. She has taught basic vocal and musical concepts to preschool and primary school students in Singapore, fostering musical interest through clarity, patience, and interactive teaching.

 

Her artistic practice seeks a balance between technique and expression, emphasizing natural vocal flow, emotional honesty, and meaningful communication with the audience. She continues to explore thoughtful and expressive approaches to vocal performance.
